Dr. Vijay Bijjargi was born into a family that strongly valued education, service, and integrity. His father served as an auditor in the Maharashtra Government Services—a responsible and transferable job that eventually brought the family to Solapur, after spending the early years of Vijay’s life in Kolhapur. The first three years of his life were spent in Kolhapur, and his formal education began in Solapur after his father moved to Mumbai for his government role.
At home, the guiding light was his mother—the cornerstone of the family. She was an extraordinary woman with a sharp mind, a deep understanding of responsibilities, and unrelenting strength. She not only managed the household but instilled in her children the values of discipline and perseverance.
However, Vijay’s early childhood was not without hardship. He was diagnosed with abdominal tuberculosis during his school years, a condition that left him weak and underweight. By the time he reached 12th grade, he weighed only 30 kilograms. It was a difficult phase—physically and emotionally—but his parents stood by him with unwavering love and support. This period, while testing, marked the early signs of the resilience that would come to define Dr. Vijay Bijjargi.
A strong source of motivation during these years was his elder brother, a brilliant student and now a successful practicing engineer. Watching his brother excel pushed Vijay to aim higher. It was also his father’s futuristic mindset, especially about the role of technology, that shaped Vijay’s future. Acting on his father’s advice, he enrolled in a 4.5-year diploma course at Aptech Computers Ltd. in Pune—a critical turning point that introduced him to the world of software and information technology.
Though naturally gifted in academics—particularly in mathematics, where he consistently scored high—Vijay took an unconventional path by choosing the arts stream. He believed that studying economics alongside his computer course would give him an edge in understanding business logic and systems.
Yet, transitioning from a Marathi-medium background to studying in English was a significant challenge. The language barrier initially slowed him down, but with focused effort, he quickly grasped complex subjects, proving his adaptability and drive to overcome obstacles.
Alongside his studies, he began working as a computer instructor at multiple institutions, including ITI College in Pune. Teaching over 100 students daily, Vijay not only solidified his technical knowledge but also developed essential leadership and communication skills. Throughout all these early years, his mother remained his emotional bedrock—teaching him the value of silent sacrifice and tireless hard work. Early on, he proved his mettle by successfully handling high-pressure projects and resolving critical issues, including a major production data loss incident, which earned him a prestigious award presented by the company’s CEO. This marked the beginning of a career defined by integrity, innovation, and a relentless drive to overcome challenges.
In 2005, he joined Patni Computer Systems as a Software Specialist, managing multiple teams and balancing personal and professional responsibilities with remarkable grace. His dedication soon took him to the United States, where he faced personal adversity during a road accident.
