She shares her life with her husband, Mr. Mehar Singh, whose support and encouragement have been her pillars of strength. Their daughter, Additri Singh, brings joy and inspiration to her every day, reminding her of the balance between love, family, and professional excellence.

Phase 1: The Early Years and Foundation

Dr. Sarda Gurung’s story is one of remarkable strength and determination. She was born in Maheswar Gurung. Her family believed in hard work and the value of education. Dr. Sarda came from a modest background. Her journey showed determination and ambition. Each step in her studies and career reflected her commitment to personal growth.

Her formal education began in a small town in West Bengal, where she attended Santirani High School. From the beginning, Dr. Sarda demonstrated strong academic abilities. She finished her Secondary Examination (Madhyamik Pariksha) in 1993. Her success in high school set the stage for her next steps, despite the many challenges that would follow.

After completing her secondary school education, Dr. Sarda moved on to pursue higher education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from North Bengal University, West Bengal, which provided her with a strong academic grounding and prepared her for further professional pursuits. She enrolled at the Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty in Lucknow, where she studied for her General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma. She completed the course in 2006, which was rigorous and required a great deal of dedication. Dr. Sarda learned the essential skills and mastered foundational healthcare principles necessary for a career in nursing. She passed her first-year exam with excellent grades. This shows her strong academic skills and her ability to handle tough subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Psychology, Sociology, and Nursing Fundamentals.

She strengthened her theoretical background with real-world experience in Community Health Nursing and Midwifery, as well as other important nursing areas. Despite these academic challenges, Dr. Sarda’s success in her nursing education set her apart and was the first major milestone in her professional life.

Phase 2 : The Pursuit of Cosmetology and Expanding Horizons

Dr. Sarda Gurung’s career surged to new heights upon completing her General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma. Though nursing offered her the opportunity to serve others, she was driven by a deeper ambition. Her interest in the world of beauty, wellness, and aesthetics began to overshadow her commitment to traditional healthcare. Dr. Sarda went beyond nursing, actively seeking out new opportunities to develop her skills and venture into uncharted territories. This realization led her to explore the realm of cosmetology.

Dr. Sarda achieved success in nursing in 2009 and then pursued a Diploma in Cosmetology at Cosmetica India Academy. This institution teamed up with the International Academy of Cosmetology in Ukraine to offer a six-month course in aesthetic medicine. The course covered a range of topics, including skincare, laser therapy, and cosmetic surgery, giving students a solid foundation in these areas. Dr. Sarda bravely entered the beauty and wellness industry after leaving healthcare. This shift came with its own set of challenges and excitement.

The Cosmetica India Academy is renowned for its high standards and internationally recognized curriculum. After completing her diploma, Dr. Sarda received her Diploma in Cosmetology in 2025. Her training included subjects like skin treatments, advanced beauty therapies, and the intricacies of laser aesthetics. Dr. Sarda developed her skills in aesthetic treatments and cosmetic enhancements here. She later used these skills in her professional career. She was keen on the field’s quick growth. The growing demand for aesthetic procedures and beauty services in India really intrigued her.

Dr. Sarda decided to enter the beauty industry because she was personally interested and wanted more financial independence. For her, nursing can be rewarding, but it does not match the earning potential or flexibility that cosmetology provides. The beauty industry, with its many opportunities, allowed Dr. Sarda to start her own business and have greater control over her career. This sense of entrepreneurial freedom was a major motivator behind her decision to pursue this new path.

Phase 3 : Transition into Professional Practice

Dr. Sarda Gurung stood at a crucial crossroads after earning her academic qualifications in both nursing and cosmetology. Her ambition to offer high-quality, client-centered services in the aesthetic field was clear. Dr. Sarda had healthcare knowledge, a cosmetology diploma, and pharmaceutical skills. This mix made her career transition a key moment. She was now ready to leave the classroom behind and begin applying her vast learning in a real-world setting.

Dr. Sarda completed her Diploma in Cosmetology in 2025 and stepped confidently into the professional world of beauty and wellness. The transition from being a student to a practitioner came with its own set of challenges. While she had acquired the necessary skills, turning theoretical knowledge into practice would require patience, persistence, and a constant commitment to learning. Dr. Sarda understood that success in the field needed more than just degrees. It required practical experience and the skill to quickly adjust to clients’ changing needs.

Her decision to work at the intersection of healthcare and cosmetology became her defining feature. Dr. Sarda realized clients wanted more than beauty treatments. They sought expertise, trust, and care. In the beauty industry, many focus just on looks. She stood out by using her healthcare and pharmacy knowledge. This helped her create a more holistic approach to beauty. Dr. Sarda’s approach combined her medical knowledge with beauty services. She performed skin treatments, suggested skincare regimens, and recommended the right pharmaceutical products for clients. She could offer a broader range of care that fused health and beauty seamlessly.

Dr. Sarda’s varied background helped her go beyond typical beauty treatments. This gave her unique results that made her stand out from other cosmetologists. Her pharmacy background and advanced training in aesthetic treatments helped her clients. She offered services that were safe, medically informed, and effective.
