Born and raised in Chandigarh, India, Kush Gupta grew up in a home that valued knowledge above all else. His father, a senior officer in the Food Corporation of India, lived a life of integrity, discipline, and academic brilliance. His mother embodied quiet strength and patience, the kind that holds families together through seasons of abundance and scarcity alike. From them, Kush inherited not only the values that would shape his choices but also the conviction that one must live a life anchored in responsibility, discipline, and aspirations. Childhood in Chandigarh was not marked by extravagance but by the richness of books, routines, and cultural exposure. Attending Guru Nanak Public School, with daily prayers and discipline, gave him not only academic grounding but also a spiritual inclusiveness that would later help him adapt across cultures and continents.
His early years revealed a boy who was studious, responsible, and deeply respectful of family values. Even in those formative years, Kush never saw himself as a burden to his parents—on the contrary, he aspired to contribute, to learn, and to shoulder responsibility wherever possible. This sense of accountability became a lifelong habit, influencing his choices as a student, professional, husband, father, and community leader.
The first turning point came when he decided to pursue architecture. After Grade 10, he enrolled in a three-year diploma program in Chandigarh, training under a respected senior architect associated with landmark projects such as Sukhna Lake. With two degrees in hand, he stepped into the professional arena, where he quickly made his mark in the media industry.
His corporate journey began with Indian Express Newspapers in Chandigarh, where he excelled in media sales and client relations. Soon after, he moved to Delhi to work with Dainik Bhaskar, rising to greater responsibility and managing corporate accounts on a national scale. These early roles were more than just jobs—they were training grounds in persuasion, negotiation, and leadership. Kush learned to meet ambitious targets, build lasting relationships, and operate with resilience in a competitive industry.

Kush’s city was a cradle of values, discipline, and dreams that guided him through life.
Born into a family that valued knowledge as its highest currency, Kush was raised with a clear understanding that education was not simply a means to earn a living—it was the foundation of character, dignity, and service. His father, Shri D. P. (Dharam Pal) Gupta, was a highly educated man who had specialised in multiple management disciplines and devoted his professional life to serving the Food Corporation of India at a senior position. He was not just an officer but an embodiment of discipline and intellectual rigour. Rising early at 6 a.m., maintaining a strict routine, and dedicating his evenings to reading and writing, his father modelled a life where order and learning were inseparable. Even in his final days, he was writing a book—proof that for him, knowledge was not a phase of youth but a lifelong pursuit. His untimely passing in 2010 left an unfinished manuscript, a half-completed dream that still inspires Kush to someday gather those scattered pages and honour his father’s legacy in print.
His mother, Smt. Kamlesh Gupta, was the heart of the home. Gentle yet resilient, she carried the weight of family responsibilities with grace. For Kush, her presence was a constant reminder that strength often speaks in silence and that behind every disciplined man stands a mother who nurtured the soil of his values.
Kush also grew up alongside his elder brother, Lov Kumar Gupta, with whom he shared the joys and struggles of childhood. The two brothers—fondly called “Luv and Kush” after the legendary sons of Lord Rama in Indian mythology—were bound not just by blood but by shared experiences that shaped their character.

He enrolled in a three-year Diploma in Architecture at a polytechnic in Chandigarh. This decision marked the beginning of his professional education and also the first time he stepped out of the comfort of school routines into the demanding world of vocational learning.
Perhaps the greatest blessing of this phase was the opportunity to apprentice under one of India’s renowned architects. His mentor’s work included the celebrated Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh—a landmark that had become a symbol of serenity and design excellence. To be mentored by such a visionary at a young age was nothing short of transformative.

After completing his diploma in architecture and spending time apprenticing under one of India’s most respected architects, Kush felt a deeper pull toward the world of business and management. The drafting tables and blueprints had sharpened his patience, but his instincts told him that his true canvas was not limited to buildings. It was broader—it was about building ideas, enterprises, and opportunities.
At this turning point, Kush made a decision that would set the rhythm for the rest of his professional journey: he chose to pursue not just one but two powerful degrees back-to-back—a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). These weren’t just academic milestones; they were the forge where his identity as a strategist, leader, and dreamer took shape.
Kush’s decision to pursue a BBA at Kurukshetra University (1998–2000) reflected his hunger for a broader perspective. While architecture had given him discipline, BBA gave him language—the language of markets, organizations, finance, and management.
Kurukshetra, a city steeped in the mythology of the Mahabharata, became a backdrop for his own battle of growth. It was here that Kush learned that business was not just about numbers and balance sheets—it was about people, strategies, and vision.
