Rajendra Giri, was an executive engineer at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and worked at the prestigious Bokaro Steel Plant, where he dedicated his career until his retirement in 2002. His mother, Sita Devi, was a devoted homemaker, providing a loving and stable environment for the family.

Selected directly from his academic institution, he joined the global leader in medical technologies as a Trainee Engineer. At Siemens, he was introduced to the world of cutting-edge medical devices, gaining hands-on experience with advanced systems. This foundational period helped him understand the critical role of technology in modern healthcare and instilled in him a lifelong passion for biomedical engineering. After spending six months at Siemens, Dr. Kumar took on a new role at Pinnacle, a diagnostics-focused company in Mumbai, in 2003. As a Service Engineer, he began to broaden his expertise by working with diagnostic equipment. His responsibilities included selling and servicing high-value laboratory devices and managing installation projects. This year at Pinnacle sharpened his technical skills and deepened his understanding of client service and operational efficiency.
In February 2005, Dr. Kumar joined the National Neuroscience Centre, Peerless Hospital, Kolkata, as the Head of Biomedical. This tertiary care hospital, specializing in neuroscience, provided him with a platform to lead independently. Over the next three and a half years, he managed the hospital’s biomedical department with exceptional skill and dedication. He took charge of the procurement, selection, and installation of medical equipment, ensuring that every piece of technology met the highest standards. In September 2008, Dr. Kumar joined Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata, as a Senior Engineer - Biomedical.
