The biography of Dr. Anup Karande is the story of a man whose journey began with simplicity, discipline, and a deep belief in the power of communication. Born on 15 October 1991, he belongs to Wategaon, in the Sangli District of Maharashtra, a place that gave him his earliest values and shaped the foundation of his character.
His command over Marathi, Hindi, and English gave him a wider platform to express himself, even though his roots remained firmly connected to his Marathi medium education. His school achievements were not only about winning prizes. They reflected his hunger to grow beyond limitations and his ability to face larger audiences with sincerity and preparation.
The academic journey of Dr. Anup carried both achievement and emotional challenge. He pursued B.Sc. Chemistry and stood sixth in Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. This achievement became deeply meaningful because it came during one of the most difficult phases of his life. Yet, even in grief, he continued his examination responsibilities and moved ahead. His father had supported his early confidence and competitions, and although he was no longer physically present, his influence remained part of every milestone that followed.
During this difficult period, the support of his mother, Pratibha Karande, and his grandfather became a source of strength. Their presence helped him continue when life demanded courage beyond his age. The family faced financial pressure, and he learned early that responsibility often arrives before a person feels ready for it. Still, he chose effort over surrender. This phase gave him not only resilience but also a deeper understanding of struggle, which later helped him connect with people facing uncertainty in their own lives.
The professional life of Dr. Anup gradually developed through banking, insurance, business development, and Human Resource Management. His career includes work with RBL Bank, Max Life Insurance, Aditi Group of Industries, Saksham Gram Credit Private Limited, Strategic Intelligence and Advocacy India Pvt Ltd, and HM Group of Companies South Africa. Across these roles, he built experience in recruitment, employee management, training, development, coordination, onboarding, counselling, employee engagement, and organisational operations. With more than 10 years of professional experience in the HR industry, he became known for combining practical decision-making with patience, communication, and a positive mindset.
Every meaningful journey begins with a foundation, and for Dr. Dayanand Marutirao Birajdar, that foundation was created in a simple environment where hard work, responsibility, and values were considered more important than comfort. His early years were shaped by the experiences of a farming family, where dedication towards work and respect for others were part of everyday life. The principles he learned during his childhood became the guiding force behind the choices he made later in life.
Born on 6 April 1957, he grew up in a family where perseverance and honesty were deeply respected. His parents, Marutirao Govindrao Birajdar and Saraswatibai Marutirao Birajdar, played a significant role in shaping his understanding of life. Coming from a farming background, the family was familiar with the importance of effort, patience, and commitment. The environment around him taught him that every achievement requires sincerity and continuous work.
His father, Marutirao Govindrao Birajdar, carried multiple responsibilities throughout his life. Along with being connected to farming, he worked as a Secretary in the Cooperative Department. He also remained involved in business activities whenever he found time. His ability to manage different responsibilities became an example of dedication and discipline for the family. Through his actions, he demonstrated the importance of remaining committed to one’s duties while continuing to move forward.
His mother, Saraswatibai Marutirao Birajdar, contributed greatly to the values that became a permanent part of his personality. She guided him towards living with discipline, kindness, and spiritual awareness. The lessons he received from her were simple yet powerful: waking up early, beginning the day with prayer, remaining consistent in work, and never speaking negatively about others. These teachings stayed with him throughout his personal and professional journey, influencing the way he interacted with people and approached responsibilities.
The family atmosphere encouraged learning and personal growth. His journey towards education was supported by his elder brothers, whose guidance became an important part of his development. His elder brother, Prof. Vinayak Marutirao Birajdar, was a Professor of Economics at Dayanand College, Latur. During his educational years, he received valuable support and guidance from him. The encouragement provided by his family helped him continue his studies and build confidence in his abilities.
Another important influence in his life was his brother, Dr. Jivan Marutirao Birajdar, who served as a Professor at Parbhani Agricultural University. The support and encouragement from his elder brothers created an environment where education was valued and opportunities were encouraged. Their belief in his potential played an important role in helping him complete his education and prepare himself for the professional journey ahead.
The early journey of Dr. Anup Karande carries one defining quality that appeared long before professional titles, awards, and responsibilities entered his life. It was his voice. Not merely the ability to speak, but the courage to stand before people, hold attention, express thought, and turn words into confidence. For him, oratory was never a casual school activity. It became one of the earliest signs of his inner strength and one of the first doors through which his personality began to open.
When he was only around four to five years old, he participated in an oratory competition for the first time. The competition was meant for students from the first standard to the fourth standard, while he was still younger than that group. At an age when most children are still learning how to face a classroom with ease, he stood before an audience and spoke with courage. That moment became deeply important because he did not simply participate. He secured the second prize at the district level.
For a child, such recognition can become a passing memory. For Dr. Anup, it became the beginning of a lifelong connection with speech, expression, and self-belief. That early achievement gave him something more valuable than a prize. It gave him proof that courage could create space for him, even when he came from a simple background. It showed him that preparation mattered, that the stage was not meant only for those with privilege, and that a sincere voice could make people listen.
From that point onwards, his relationship with oratory became disciplined. He began waking up early in the morning, around four a.m., to practise his speeches. This routine showed the seriousness with which he approached his passion even as a child. He was not treating competitions as occasional events. He was shaping a habit. The early morning practice reflected a kind of commitment that would later become visible in his education and career as well. Before he entered the world of Human Resource Management, before he guided teams and conducted training sessions, he first learnt the discipline of preparing his own voice.
Coming from a Marathi medium background, he had to build his confidence through effort and exposure. His schooling gave him grounding, but he did not limit himself to one language or one form of expression. His participation grew across school platforms, where he developed comfort in Marathi, Hindi, and English. This was not only a linguistic achievement. It was a sign of adaptability. He learnt to carry the same confidence across different spaces, different audiences, and different expectations.
During his school years, competitions became a regular part of his growth. He participated in elocution, essay writing, and several literary activities. These platforms sharpened his thinking and strengthened his presentation skills. Every competition required him to understand a topic, organise his thoughts, and speak or write with clarity. Through this process, he was quietly developing qualities that later became central to his professional life. Listening, preparation, communication, presence of mind, and confidence were not learned suddenly in adulthood. They were built step by step during these formative years.
The journey of Dr. Anup Karande moved from the confidence of school platforms into the seriousness of higher education with a quiet but determined force. By the time he entered college, he had already understood the value of preparation, consistency, and self-belief. The stage had taught him confidence, but academics demanded another kind of commitment. It required patience, focus, and the ability to stay steady through pressure. For him, this phase became a powerful bridge between his early promise and the deeper responsibilities that life would soon place before him.
He pursued B.Sc. Chemistry, building his academic path through a subject that required both clarity and discipline. Chemistry was not a field where success could be achieved through memory alone. It required careful understanding, practical learning, observation, and accuracy. Dr. Anup approached this phase with the same seriousness that had earlier shaped his oratory journey. His ability to prepare, remain consistent, and take responsibility for his performance became central to his progress.
During his college years, he specialised in areas connected with Chemistry, Sugar Industry, Alcohol, and Fermentation. These areas reflected a technical and applied direction in his education. They gave him exposure to scientific understanding linked with industry and practical use. This phase added depth to his academic personality, as he was no longer only a confident speaker or active participant in competitions. He was becoming a student who could balance expression with knowledge, presence with preparation, and ambition with academic seriousness.
He came from a Marathi medium background and carried forward his education with determination. College life introduced new expectations, wider competition, and greater pressure, yet he did not allow these conditions to weaken his purpose. His earlier habit of preparation helped him adjust to this demanding academic space. He knew that every stage of learning required effort, and he remained committed to proving himself through performance.
As he advanced in his B.Sc. Chemistry programme, his final year became one of the most difficult and defining phases of his life. At a time when students usually focus fully on examinations, practicals, and academic completion, Dr. Anup faced an emotional loss that shook the foundation of his world. His father, Late Ankush Jaypal Karande, passed away during this crucial period. The grief arrived when he was standing at the edge of an important academic milestone.
The timing of this loss made the situation even more painful. His university practical examination was approaching, and the weight of personal sorrow stood directly against academic responsibility. For a young student, such a moment could easily break concentration and direction. His father had been a strong source of encouragement in his earlier journey, especially during competitions and formative achievements. Losing him at such a time was not only the loss of a parent. It was the loss of a guiding presence who had helped him believe in his own abilities.
Yet, in that deeply difficult situation, Dr. Anup did not step away from his responsibility. He completed his examination duties despite the emotional shock. The strength required for this cannot be measured only through marks or results. It came from the kind of discipline that life had already begun forming in him. He carried grief within him, but he still appeared for what needed to be completed. His decision reflected maturity, courage, and a deep respect for the path he had chosen.
With heartfelt gratitude, Dr. Anup Karande extends his sincere thanks to every person whose presence gave strength, direction, and meaning to his life.
He offers deep respect to his father, Late Ankush Jaypal Karande, whose encouragement during his early years helped him discover confidence and develop his oratory skills. His blessings remained a guiding force throughout the milestones that followed. He also expresses immense gratitude to his mother, Pratibha Karande, whose strength stood beside him during difficult times, and to his late grandfather, whose support gave him the courage to continue after personal loss.
Dr. Anup remains thankful to Hon. Mr. Jayant Patil Saheb (Ex. Finance Minister – Maharashtra State & Current MLA of Urun Ishwarpur Constituency) for his invaluable encouragement and guidance. He also extends his sincere gratitude to Hon. Mr. Prateek Jayant Patil (Chairman – Rajarambapu SSK Ltd., Sakhrale) for his constant support and motivation.

He also acknowledges Mr. Mohamed Safideen (Managing Director – HM Group of Industries) for his encouragement and belief in his abilities.
Dr. Anup offers heartfelt appreciation to his wife, Sneha Karande, whose support has strengthened his career journey with patience and understanding. His daughter, Gatha Karande, brings emotional purpose to his efforts and adds deeper meaning to his responsibilities.
With sincere appreciation, he also thanks Mr. Ravindra Barde (Ex. Chairman of PWD & Health Department & Member of Sangli ZP) and Mr. Manish Barde (Reputed Industrialist) for their encouragement and support. Their contribution became part of the strength that helped him move forward.
