The qualities of curiosity, tenacity, and purpose have been the driving forces behind this journey, which has taken her from the secluded corners of her childhood home in Mauritius to the boardrooms of multinational corporations. Having a background deeply rooted in human resources, strategic people management, and organizational development, she grew to view every career milestone as more than just a title; it is a chapter that is packed with learning, relationships, and transformation.
The things she’s learnt, the people who have influenced her, and the principles that she continues to uphold are all reflected in my biography. In the following pages, it is her aim that you will not only be able to observe the progression of a career, but also the spirit that is behind it.

Phase 1 : A Journey Rooted in Values

The beginning of Dr. Ashna’s adventure does not take place in a corporate office but in the very centre of her residence in Mauritius. This is precisely where the adventure begins. During the early years of her childhood, Ashna was impacted by love, education, and discipline. The key driving forces behind her development were her devoted father, Kaviraj Kumar Boodia, and her loving grandmother, Chandraotee Devi Sobnach. Both of these persons were essential in her growth. As a seasoned educator with a passion for knowledge and innovation, her father served as a source of motivation for her because of his commitment to academic excellence and service. He was the only source of inspiration for her. She obtained an understanding of the significance of integrity, knowledge, and consistency via her experiences, which would later come to define her approach to leadership. Her experiences helped her achieve this extraordinary insight.
As a result of early introduction to education and professional ethics, Dr. Ashna was able to lay the groundwork for her lifelong pursuit of work that is motivated by a sense of purpose at an early age. Her ambition to expand her academic and professional horizons led her to pursue further studies in Melbourne, Australia. There, she deepened her expertise in business and human resource management, strengthening her strategic understanding of the field. She moved to Australia to seek more advanced education. Since Dr. Ashna was adamant on realizing her full potential, she relocated to accomplish the objectives she had set for herself. With the opportunity to reside in a different nation, it not only facilitated the acquisition of academic qualifications but also assisted her in developing greater self-sufficiency, broadened her understanding of the world, and provided her with exposure to worldwide professional standards.
In the course of these formative years, she discovered that she had a strong interest in human resources, not just as a field of study but also as a profession that would allow her to bring about the empowerment of others. Alongside this passion, Ashna also began studies in law, further broadening her understanding of organizational and legal frameworks. Upon relocating back to Mauritius, she started her professional career in human resources from the ground up. Her first professional role laid the foundation for a series of annual promotions that highlighted not just her technical skill but also her propensity for leadership. These advancements highlighted her capacity to lead others. She was routinely recognised as one of the most outstanding employees in her department as a consequence of the tireless efforts that she put forth. During this phase, she took stock of her abilities in the areas of strategic problem-solving, mentorship of teams, and performance management. She realised that quality speaks for itself, which was a significant lesson that she learnt. This was something that she was able to achieve by rising up on her own without needing external acclaim.
Phase 2 : Early Childhood and Education: Lessons Beyond the Classroom

In the heart of Mauritius, a young Ashna Ramdoyal discovered that brilliance was not innately present in a person but rather something that was developed over time. She was surrounded by verdant vegetation and the aroma of spices that were boiling in the kitchen of her family. The two extraordinary people who were responsible for Ashna’s upbringing were her father, Kaviraj Kumar Boodia, and her grandmother, Chandraotee Devi Sobnach. Ashna was born into a home that was both modest and intellectually rich. Not only was he a provider, but he was also a mentor to her. Her father was a highly respected expert in information technology at the University of Mauritius. Their living room was transformed into a learning hub in the evenings, where he coached pupils in a variety of subjects, including computing and mathematics. At a young age, Ashna was steeped in the quiet discipline of learning and the silent strength of determination. She took these things very seriously.
A lot of the time, she would observe from the sidelines, quietly taking in ideas that were much beyond her years. The dedication of her father, which included his patience, precision, and hidden optimism that every child he taught would be successful, was the source of inspiration for her. However, the topics themselves were not the most important factor. The early contours of Ashna’s ambition were shaped not just by the materials that he taught, but also by the way that he lived his life.
Together with him, her grandmother served as the emotional compass for the family. In addition to being Ashna’s confidante, Chandraotee Devi Sobnach was also her moral anchor and her everyday cheerleader.

Here, she stepped into a more complex and strategic space. She wasn’t just responsible for workforce planning anymore—she was responsible for building teams, shaping internal HR strategies, and overseeing comprehensive talent management processes. Her role expanded into client account management, team training, employer branding, and business development. Whether leading strategic initiatives or mentoring colleagues, Dr. Ashna brought a clear vision and operational excellence that significantly enhanced organizational performance and reputation.
