Phase 1: Early Life in Kerala

Dr. Abdurahiman P. A.’s early childhood experiences in the village of Malapram, situated in the heart of Kerala, India, laid the groundwork for his subsequent success. He came into this world on April 10, 1966, to parents who were role models for him in terms of humility, tenacity, and commitment. These principles have been with him ever since he was a little child, and they have helped form his character and direct his actions.

Upbringing in Malappuram: A Groundwork for Self-Control and Ambition
While growing up, Dr. Abdurahiman lived in Malappuram, a small town in Kerala known for its verdant scenery. The seasonal changes and the farmers’ daily routines created a peaceful rhythm in the village. Even though it was a quiet place, there weren’t many chances for kids to learn about the world outside their neighbourhood. Dr. Abdurahiman’s parents, who valued education and personal growth, created a supportive home for their son despite these obstacles, and he grew up dreaming big despite living in rural India.

His father was a teacher at the neighbourhood school; he was a firm but loving man. His mother was just as devoted; she was also quite good at running the home. The importance of education was instilled in Dr. Abdurahiman from a young age. Both of his parents recognised the potential benefits of education and emphasised the importance of acquiring knowledge for their son.

He started his formal education in a tiny village school when he was five years old, where they taught him the basics of reading, writing, and maths as well as traditional values and the world beyond. The small school was crucial to his early development, despite its humble appearance. Dr. Abdurahiman showed an innate talent for studying and did exceptionally well in his academic pursuits. Areas like mathematics and the sciences, which required him to think analytically, really captivated him. One of the defining features of his later life was his incessant need to know more, which sprang from his innate curiosity.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

Phase 2 : Move to Mumbai and Saudi Arabia

Following his decision to forego a career in medicine in favour of business, Dr. Abdurahiman P. A. set off on an adventure that would take him from the sleepy village of Malapram, Kerala, to the teeming city of Mumbai and, subsequently, the prosperous economic centres of Saudi Arabia. The transition from the tranquil environment of Kerala to the hectic and cut-throat world of business was a watershed moment in his life, setting the stage for his future success as an entrepreneur.

Leaving aside his family’s hopes for him to become a doctor was a tough but essential decision, and Dr. Abdurahiman made the courageous move to Mumbai, the financial metropolis of India, in the early 1980s. Although he lacked any kind of traditional business training, he was enthusiastic about learning and set out to change that. The city of Mumbai was renowned for its energy, quick development, and abundance of possibilities. It was also a metropolis of aspirations, a destination for individuals from throughout India and the world who wished to build a better life for themselves.

Since his older brother had already made a name for himself in the tourism industry, Dr. Abdurahiman joined him upon his arrival. For Dr. Abdurahiman, the chance to work with his brother in a successful industry was a once-in-a-lifetime chance. The ever-changing landscape of tourism in India at the time enchanted him. His involvement in the company’s day-to-day operations was immediate and extensive, spanning customer service, booking management, and client relations, among other responsibilities.

Dr. Abdurahiman experienced the fast-paced world of business for the very first time. In contrast to his sleepy Kerala hamlet, Mumbai was vibrant, bustling, and full of opportunities. It was a really illuminating experience. A strong product or service isn’t enough to succeed in business, he realised early on; what really matters are connections with customers, their demands, and a relentless pursuit of perfection. He learnt that the key to success in the cutthroat business world was a combination of patience and hard effort.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Phase 3 : Transition to Healthcare and Establishment of a Healthcare Network

Dr. Abdurahiman P. A. made a decision that changed his career and the lives of countless people in 2005. He decided to shift his focus from the booming tourism sector to healthcare after achieving success in the travel and tourism industry. In addition to financial considerations, his choice was motivated by a deep sense of social duty and a need to help individuals who were unable to afford adequate medical treatment.

In addition to taking a daring step into a new industry, Dr. Abdurahiman’s decision to enter the healthcare field demonstrates his profound comprehension of the difficulties encountered by the Saudi expat population. His innate empathy as an entrepreneur led him to realise that affordable, high quality healthcare was a critical issue in the area. From its humble beginnings, a healthcare network that now serves thousands of patients every year has grown into a profitable enterprise.

As he spent time working in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdurahiman saw firsthand the challenges that the expatriate workforce faced, including a lack of access to quality, inexpensive healthcare. Medical treatment was frequently scarce for these employees, who hailed from nations such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. Though advanced in many respects, Saudi Arabia’s healthcare system has always catered mainly to native Saudis, leaving foreigners with few options when they become ill.

Dr. Abdurahiman gradually became aware of this healthcare system deficit, especially as it pertained to low-income expats. He said that many employees, especially those in the manufacturing and construction industries, faced health problems and lacked convenient access to adequate medical treatment. Due to factors such as high healthcare costs and a lack of nearby specialised facilities, these individuals frequently had to settle for less than ideal healthcare options. This fact unsettled Dr. Abdurahiman to the point that he decided to pursue a career in healthcare.
