His educational path was not without challenges. Like the most worthwhile journeys, it included moments that tested his determination. A setback during his school years became a turning point that encouraged him to work harder and improve himself. “The values we learn early in life become the strength we carry forever.”

Phase 1: Roots of Resilience in Murmadi

Born on 11 August 1981, in the small village of Murmadi, Maharashtra, Dr. Rakesh Rambhau Chakole grew up in a setting where family, duties, and togetherness were woven into everyday life. During his childhood, the village had a population of around 1,000 to 1,500 people, and life moved at a simple pace where people knew each other and shared close relationships. His early years were spent in a small house with his father, Rambhau Chakole, two brothers, and other family members. Although the space was limited, the bond within the family was strong, and the values created within that home became an important part of his personality.

His family carried a spirit of hard work and self-reliance. They were involved in a small business of making and selling cigarettes, which became one of the sources of their livelihood. Around the time of his birth, the family also started a tea shop, which was managed and carried forward by his father and uncles. The business gradually became a part of their daily life and brought the family together through shared responsibilities. Everyone contributed in their own way, and these experiences introduced Dr. Rakesh to the importance of commitment and teamwork from an early age.

The family worked together to create stability and progress. His uncles followed their own professional paths, with one uncle joining a school as a Parichar, while another worked as a driver in a bank. His father continued managing the family business, carrying forward the responsibility of supporting the household. Together, they built a house for the three brothers, creating a place where family members could continue living with unity and connection.

As a child, Dr. Rakesh experienced a life where learning and responsibility existed together. He would go to school while also helping at the family tea shop. He remembers being involved in simple tasks such as serving tea, washing cups, and assisting with everyday work. These moments introduced him to different kinds of people and gave him an opportunity to observe life beyond his own surroundings. The tea shop became a place where he interacted with farmers, villagers, teachers, and people from different backgrounds. Through these conversations, he developed curiosity about people, their professions, and their experiences.

These interactions influenced the way he looked at education and future opportunities. Sitting at the shop, he often asked people about their work and tried to understand what different careers involved. Seeing people pursue different professions helped him realise the importance of learning and building a future through knowledge and skills.

“Every setback teaches us the courage to begin again.”

Phase 2 : Learning Through Challenges

Dr. Rakesh Rambhau Chakole’s formal education began at Samarth School Lakahni, where he studied from class 1 to class 10. During his school years, he developed interests in subjects such as Hindi and Marathi. He enjoyed learning languages and found a connection with subjects that allowed him to express thoughts and understand people better. Along with academics, he remained active in sports and participated in different activities, including badminton and other outdoor games.

One of the most important turning points in his early educational pathway came when he faced failure in his class 10 examination. It was a challenging moment, but instead of accepting it as an ending point, he decided to improve himself. He appeared for the examination again with greater determination and successfully passed with 61 percent marks. This experience became an early lesson in perseverance, showing him the importance of accepting challenges and making sincere efforts to overcome them.

After completing his schooling, he looked for opportunities that could help him build a stable future while remaining connected to his family and village. Since Ashok Leyland had a presence near his village and was known for manufacturing large trucks, he chose to pursue ITI Electrician training with the hope of finding employment nearby. Being the only son with two sisters, staying close to his parents was important to him. He wanted to create a future where he could support his family while building his own career.

He completed his ITI Electrician course in Gondia, where he spent two years in a hostel. This phase brought new experiences and responsibilities into his life. Living away from home taught him independence, as he had to manage daily activities on his own, including preparing his own food. The hostel environment also introduced him to new people and different perspectives. He built strong friendships during this period, many of which continue even today. The bond created among his old friends remained strong through regular conversations, meetings, and gatherings.

Although he completed his technical education with the hope of finding employment in his village, circumstances did not work as expected. Instead of allowing his path to end, he persisted in seeking out new opportunities and unexplored directions. He pursued HSC Science from the Nagpur Board and later explored further studies in agriculture. He took admission in B.Sc. Agriculture and spent a year there, but due to certain difficulties, he had to leave the course.

His career demonstrates his willingness to adapt when situations changed. Instead of allowing circumstances to discourage him, he continued searching for opportunities that aligned with his responsibilities and aspirations. Later, after coming across an advertisement for a school, he entered the education sector, beginning a new chapter in his professional life.

“When work is done with sincerity, every day becomes a step towards something meaningful.”

Phase 3 : A Two-Decade Journey in Education

After completing different stages of education and experiencing various challenges along the way, Dr. Rakesh Rambhau Chakole stepped into a career that became truly important in his life. In 2001, he joined Navjeevan Vidyalaya and Junior Science College, Jamnapur, Sakoli, as a Lab Attendant, beginning a long association with the education sector. What started as a professional opportunity gradually became a place where he continued learning, developed meaningful relationships, and contributed to the academic environment around him.

Working in an educational institution gave him the opportunity to remain connected with students, teachers, and the process of learning. His role in the science laboratory required responsibility, attention, and practical understanding. He managed laboratory-related work, handled chemicals, maintained the laboratory environment, and supported the smooth functioning of activities connected with science education. Through these responsibilities, he gained valuable experience and developed a deeper understanding of discipline and careful management.

For Dr. Rakesh, the workplace was not only a place to complete duties. It became an environment where every interaction brought a new learning experience. His association with students and teachers allowed him to observe different perspectives and continue expanding his own knowledge. He believes that learning comes from every person and every situation, and his years in the academic environment strengthened this belief.

During this period in the education sector, he also had opportunities to work with different colleges and gain wider experience. Each place brought new responsibilities and new people into his life. The interactions he had with students and teachers helped him understand the importance of communication, patience, and working together. He found satisfaction in being part of an environment where young minds were developing and where knowledge was continuously being shared.

One of the memorable moments connected with his professional stage was his achievement in a Taluka Level Science Exhibition in Sakoli. The recognition of securing first position became a proud experience for him. It was not only an achievement associated with competition but also a reflection of his involvement with science and the learning environment around him. The experience gave him a sense of satisfaction and became one of the moments he remembered from his association with the educational field.

Alongside his responsibilities at the institution, Dr. Rakesh continued to develop his skills and adapt to changing requirements. His knowledge of computers, accounting, Excel, Word, and Tally became useful in managing different professional responsibilities. He recalls that initially computers were unfamiliar to him, but through continuous effort, he learned how to work with technology. Over time, his practical experience allowed him to support others and guide people who approached him with questions related to work and computer-based tasks.
