“You have within you, right now, everything you need to deal with whatever the world can throw at you.” — Brian Tracy

Dedication

I dedicate this book to my mother, Madam Hamisah binti Abdul Mulok, whose unwavering strength, boundless love, and quiet wisdom have been the guiding light of my life. Your faith in goodness, your daily prayers, and your ever-present encouragement have shaped every step of my journey. You taught me that the truest form of success lies in serving others with sincerity, and for that, I am forever grateful.

To my late father, Haji Abdul Razak bin Saleh, whose principles and integrity laid the foundation upon which I stand. Though your voice has grown silent in this world, your values continue to echo in my every decision. Your memory remains a source of strength, dignity, and purpose.

To my family—my wife, Zubidah binti Md. Yunos, and my children, Abdul Qaiyyum, Nur Iffa Amirah, Nur Farhani Izzani, and Qamarull Ashroff— who have stood beside me through every chapter, offered comfort in times of doubt, and celebrated the milestones with open hearts. Your support has been my anchor, and your love, my deepest blessing. Each of you has played a part in shaping this story, and I carry your presence with me in all that I do.

And to all the educators in this world—mentors, teachers, lecturers, and lifelong learners— this is for you. You are the quiet architects of our societies, the torchbearers of truth, the cultivators of hope. In classrooms, lecture halls, and communities across the globe, your impact is immeasurable. May this work honor the noble path you walk each day.

With deepest gratitude,
Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak

Phase 1: Dreams Above the Clouds

“Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.” — Dr. Mae C. Jemison

Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak was born on 22nd October, 1962, in the diverse country of Malaysia. Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak lived his childhood with rich dreams that could touch the skies that he was accustomed to seeing all around him. Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak, as a young boy growing up in Perak, was fascinated with flight every time, living in a lush green area that surrounded him with a small but quiet pattern of village life. He would watch airplanes cutting through the clouds, imagining what it was like to be on board one and above the clouds, mountains, oceans, and the very clouds that forced him to look up from his ground. It was the charisma of adventure, freedom, and a view that few get to see.

Fate, as it so often did, had in mind a different fate.

More than textbooks and chalkboards was what schooling provided him. It gave him the influence of passionate educators, who did way more than just teach; he was inspired by them. Those who were giving to his cause, and from whom they were learning while giving, started to efface his childhood dream of aviation with a more mature understanding of what it meant to inspire and inspire others.

Seeing as he stepped into the halls of higher learning, education was clearly no longer just a career plan. It was a mission. He made his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at the prestigious University of Malaya from 1985 to 1987. These years helped him to cement his purpose. In 1988–89, he enrolled in the Aminuddin Baki Institute under the Ministry of Education to further equip himself in educational leadership. He also pursued another degree from the University of Malaya, a master’s in principalship from 2000 to 2001.

Through those academic achievements, Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak lived for his country indeed. Education always held a significant place for him, not just for personal success. This was a tool for national progress. He viewed the classroom as a reflection of society, where good values, vision, and leadership can be injected into young minds to create an eventual future for Malaysia. He started to think outside of his own role, outside of the walls of academia. It was undeniable that he felt a duty to serve students and his whole nation.

That duty did not end with education. His contributions towards community service were fulfilled through various NGOs where he dedicated endless hours towards underprivileged communities. Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak had personal missions against poverty, inequality, and lack of access to education. His life was for humanity, and he believed in every endeavor, however small, as a form of fighting to make this world a little less cruel and a little more just.

Phase 2: Aspirations Beyond Classrooms Walls

“The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.” — Tony Robbins

Razak pursued education beyond standard boundaries in his career because he completely dedicated himself to teaching. Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak dedicated all his mental power, emotional commitment, and spiritual strength to his educational career. The positions he occupied throughout his career extended beyond employment duties into becoming the formation of enduring legacies. Following his graduation, Dr. Razmi started teaching at the Matriculation Centre of Universiti Utara Malaysia in 1989. He functioned as a mentor, advisor, and role model throughout his twelve-year service at the Matriculation Centre of Universiti Utara Malaysia from 1989 to 2000. The core of his teaching method centered on individual empowerment, which would ultimately lead to community success. Every student possessed their own personal story, so he made an effort to connect with each one according to their current state. Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak converted his academic classrooms into platforms for character development and enabled the growth of future medical professionals, engineering students, entrepreneurial leaders, and teachers.

The Matriculation Centre provided eleven years of fulfilling service to him, but the work continued well past this phase. The year 2003 marked his transition to become Senior Academic Assistant at Alam Shah Science School, which stands as a premier academic establishment in Malaysia. He spent 20 years at this to build an excellent learning environment, which spanned from 2003 to 2022. Here, his influence grew exponentially. His students received lessons about science but also gained wisdom from him on leadership development and learned about service values and resilience building.

Students remember him through both classroom teaching methods and personal facilitation, together with genuine care towards their educational advancement. Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak provided guidance to university students of various backgrounds, including heroes and outsiders. During both his tasks of explaining challenging content to weaker students and motivating exceptional learners beyond their usual limits, Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak fully devoted himself to all activities.

The boundaries of his education work extended past standard classroom hours and school program curriculum. According to him, education truly takes place as much from outside classroom experiences as from within classroom experiences. His core belief drove him to start exercising his leadership competence through arranging educational events that taught students skills such as leadership development and conflict resolution methods. Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak led the advancement of STEM education development for young people at a time when it was still not much known to the world. Youth empowerment in his life was not a mere show—he believed in it with his heart and soul.

Through his dual expertise of human development knowledge and business strategy principles, Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak strengthened his educational approach. Phase 3: A Voice for the People

“The only thing standing between you and your goal is the story you keep telling yourself as to why you can’t achieve it.” — Jordan Belfort

The beats of the heart conveyed a profound sense of duty, which compelled Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak to transform into a national-level force committed to making change within his country. The educational phase of his journey revealed that educating children marked only his entry point in life. His next logical progression became the incorporation of his voice along with his principles and ideas into a public service dimension.

Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak pursued the establishment of connections between social groups as well as service policies alongside the primary goal of establishing better relationships between public officials and their constituents. His sober educational leadership based on ethical principles combined with empathetic approaches made him quickly respected by people in political offices. After a brief time, he received an election to the Committee of Education, which allowed him to become active in nationwide educational reform initiatives.

The committee member used his position to support policies that accounted for the education needs of both urban students and rural and marginalized students. His expertise in strategic human resources management and leadership development provided him with special skills to transform concepts into operational blueprints.

His social impact extended beyond policymaking sessions and legislative meetings. His commitment to community service never wavered while he conducted his work as an administrator. Humanitarian causes continuously attracted him throughout his life, and his organization with nonprofit groups stayed powerful.

The humanitarian spirit of Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak kept him dedicated to organizing food drives, while additionally he supported orphanages and worked to expand educational resources in deprived areas, so he stayed relevant to average citizens.

According to Dr. Razmi Bin Abdul Razak, both types of service were one connected path because they overlapped in purpose. He explained often that any policies lose their value when they fail to serve populations most in need. His dedication to this belief compelled him to establish physical contact with people by hearing their stories and grasping their difficulties so he could respond quickly with sincere understanding. Through his NGO work, he maintained direct connections with community problems that led him to base every decision on human experiences.

A new important appointment occurred when he joined the Board of Governors at the Royal Military College in 2014 under the Ministry of Defence. His position enabled him to serve the prestigious Malaysian institution by delivering his expertise in leadership development. His role at this institution involved teaming up with educators and military officers and administrators to generate disciplined leaders who combined strategic abilities with compassionate traits. His experience in the military command gave him richer insights into national defense work and reinforced his homage toward Malaysia’s fighting forces.

"Greatness is not defined by accolades, but by the courage to evolve and the purpose to serve."
