Dr. Priseela Chuttoo was born on March 26, 1976, under the peaceful morning sun in a place that represented culture and complete community spirit alongside its natural wonders. Her family experienced great happiness when she was born because they valued integrity alongside education together with personal strength. Her parents raised her in love while teaching her growth and establishing her life goals. Love combined with family support during her childhood served as essential blocks for her later achievements.
From a young age, Dr. Priseela Chuttoo was deeply inspired by her father’s dream of seeing her achieve greatness. He envisioned her becoming a respected lawyer committed to justice, and his unwavering belief in her abilities became the foundation of her drive for success. Alongside her father, her mother nurtured strong moral values and emotional growth, creating a balanced environment where Dr. Priseela’s curiosity and talents could thrive.
Dr. Priseela’s academic journey began at the Women Catholic School, where she quickly stood out as a brilliant student. With an innate love for learning and a disciplined approach, she consistently ranked among the top in her class. Her passion for subjects like literature, history, science, and mathematics, coupled with her relentless determination, set her apart and solidified her identity as a scholar from an early age.
Throughout her schooling, Dr. Priseela’s parents remained her strongest supporters, assisting with studies, attending meetings, and constantly encouraging her. Their support helped shape her into a confident, hardworking young woman. Dr. Priseela Chuttoo laid the groundwork for her academic success with unwavering dedication to higher learning. She pursued a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Studies at the University of Mauritius, beginning in 2002. Throughout the rigorous four-year program, she honed her analytical and management skills, mastering key business disciplines like accounting, marketing, organizational behavior, and strategic management. Her time at university shaped her understanding of leadership and operational excellence, which became fundamental to her career in management and education.
Following her undergraduate success, Dr. Priseela advanced her education by pursuing an MBA at MCA/UOM between 2007 and 2008. The program enhanced her strategic thinking and evaluative skills, while interactions with a diverse group of professionals broadened her perspectives. Her MBA experience deepened her professional maturity, preparing her for future leadership roles and equipping her with effective strategies for overcoming challenges and driving achievements.
Between 2011 and 2015, Dr. Priseela fulfilled a personal and family dream by earning an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Mauritius. Despite the demanding nature of the program — which covered constitutional law, criminal law, and legal ethics — she remained focused and resilient. Remarkably, she completed her law degree while expecting her youngest child, Jaya, balancing personal and academic challenges with extraordinary perseverance, driven by a deep commitment to fulfilling her father’s vision.
Throughout her journey, Dr. Priseela benefited from the steady support of her husband and extended family, whose encouragement allowed her to overcome even the most daunting obstacles. After earning her Teacher’s Certificate Primary from the Mauritius Institute of Education (MIE) in 1998-1999, Dr. Priseela Chuttoo began her 18-year journey in education. Teaching was not just a career choice for her; it was a mission to spark meaningful change in how children learn and grow. Guiding students from Class 5 to Class 8, she blended her accredited qualifications with natural teaching instincts to foster both academic and personal development in her students.
Dr. Priseela quickly distinguished herself by personalizing her teaching methods to fit each student’s unique learning style. Her innovative, interactive lesson designs went beyond academics, nurturing students’ self-confidence and instilling essential values like discipline, resilience, and empathy.
